Let’s talk about those unexpected gifts on your carpet. While the occasional hairball is normal (gross, but normal), frequent hacking might be a sign something’s off.

If your cat is coughing up fur sausages more than once or twice a month, it could be due to:

• Excessive grooming (often from stress or skin issues)

• A lack of fiber

• Or just a long-haired floof being... too floofy

• Brush regularly — especially if you’ve got a long-haired diva. Less loose fur = fewer hairballs.

• Try hairball-control treats or food — fiber-rich formulas help things move along.
